Chadwick Boseman's intense portrayal of Black Panther in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR was definitely a highlight of the well-received film. So it's no surprise that anticipation for his solo debut is at an all-time high. Directed by Ryan Coogler (FRUITVALE STATION, CREED) and starring a who's-who of prominent black actors like Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett (finally playing a Marvel character after turning down Storm in 2000) and Forest Whitaker, among others (as well as some of the whitest dudes ever Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman), the film has a lot to live up to.
However, if this concept art of the technologically-advanced African nation of Wakanda (only glimpsed at briefly at the end of CIVIL WAR) is anything to go by, we should be in really good hands:

Now, I don't know about you guys, but I'm f*cking pumped for Black Panther. He was probably the best part of CIVIL WAR (a movie I liked, but didn't love), and Boseman killed it big time. I can't wait!
And wait I shall, as BLACK PANTHER won't leap into theaters until over a year from now, on February 16, 2018. Sad face.
