Black Panther: Wakanda Forever merch reveals a first look at Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart costume

Photos of some Black Panther: Wakanda Forever merch is making the rounds online, which provide a look at Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart costume. Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart, will appear in Ryan Coogler’s upcoming Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Riri Williams (Thorne) will also star in a solo series on Disney+, which Coogler’s production company is producing.

The first piece of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever merch depicts Riri in her Ironheart suit, Danai Gurira’s Okoye, Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, and Letitia Wright’s Shuri. Each of Marvel‘s warrior women is armed and ready for battle. The other item of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever merch features Riri’s full Ironheart suit. The armored suit includes plenty of bells and whistles of Riri’s design, though she looks a bit like Samus Aran or a Transformer than a next-generation Iron Man. Still, Riri looks like she could take care of business, and the MCU can always use another badass.

Riri Williams was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato in 2016 and introduced as a 15-year-old MIT student who managed to reverse engineer Iron Man’s armor to create her own and caught the attention of Tony Stark himself. In addition to taking on solo missions, Riri Williams is also a Champions member. If Marvel plans to introduce a team of young heroes down the line, Williams will likely be a part of the group.

After several production delays due to the pandemic and extensive injuries suffered by the film’s star, Letitia Wright, production for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wrapped in March. Marvel has revealed very little about the upcoming sequel besides its official title. We don’t even know which character inherits the role of Black Panther and leader of Wakanda. However, there’s a chance that we’ll learn much more when Disney takes over Hall H at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Meanwhile, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in theaters on November 11, 2022.
