Darren Aronofsky’s BLACK SWAN is closing in on its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September, and so it goes that yesterday its official MPAA rating became official; no one should be surprised that it’s restricted baby!

The Natalie Portman/Mila Kunis film nabbed an R rating for “strong sexual content, disturbing violent images, language and some drug use.” We all know what that “strong sexual content” is, don’t we…

BLACK SWAN focuses on a veteran ballerina (Portman) who finds herself locked in a competitive situation with a rival dancer (Kunis), with the stakes and twists increasing as the dancers approach a big performance. But it’s unclear whether the rival is a supernatural apparition or if the protagonist is simply having delusions. The film opens in limited release on December 1st.

Meanwhile, in another piece of “no shit” news, RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE got hit with an R for “sequences of strong violence and language.” As all the other RESIDENT EVIL flicks had R ratings, this was pretty obvious. AFTERLIFE hits theaters on September 10th.
