Blood Feast remake rated R for “strong sadistic violence, gore” & more

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Back in June, we let you guys know that the upcoming remake of Herschell Gordon Lewis' splatter classic BLOOD FEAST was going to be edited down to an R-rating for theatrical release. And today we have confirmation on the rating via the MPAA and star Caroline Williams.

Williams took to Twitter the other day to break the news about the remake's R-rating and to let us know that the film has earned said rating due to “strong sadistic violence and gore, language including sexual references, nudity and some drug content.”

You can check out her tweet right here:

What do you think of the new BLOOD FEST getting an R rating? Let us know by hitting us up in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

BLOOD FEAST is set for a Halloween home video release – which we can only HOPE will be the unrated/uncut version – and then there is a planned VOD release in January 2018.

Before that though, the film hits theaters July 28th.
