Blood Truck: Scope another V-Log from the set of Hobo with a Shotgun

Another week equals another behind-the-scenes look at the production of HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN, the exploitation send-up from feature first timer Jason Eisner. Not only do we have a healthy amount of grue in a clip aptly titled “Blood Truck,” the duration of said clip is about twice as long as any other BTS video or V-Log we’ve seen out of the HOBO camp. Quite a coup on all fronts!

So what the hell is a blood truck, anyway? Pretty self-explanatory, actually. You see, anytime blood is needed on set, Eisner simply looks to his right-hand-man Henry Townsend and his trusty “blood truck” to fulfill that need. Really, it’s just a giant vat of fake blood on wheels. Pretty f*ckin’ gnarly!

Is that all that’s in the clip though? Hell no. We also get to see a woman get doused with a cup of fake blood, a circular saw savagely de-limbing a prosthetic, exploding squibs, a sledge-hammer eviscerating a foot, etc. etc. In short, it’s not at all for the squeamish!

Clinging to a roiled 2011 release, HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN tells the story of a vigilante homeless man (Rutger Hauer) who pulls into a new city and finds himself trapped in urban chaos, a city where crime rules and where the city’s crime boss reigns. Seeing an urban landscape filled with armed robbers, corrupt cops, abused prostitutes and even a pedophile Santa, the Hobo goes about bringing justice to the city the best way he knows how – with a 20-gauge shotgun. Mayhem ensues when he tries to make things better for the future generation. Street justice will indeed prevail.

Molly Dunsworth, Brian Downey, Gregory Smith, Rob Wells, Nick Bateman, David Brunt and John Awoods also star in the film.
