Bloodshot returning to the big screen after early VOD release post-shutdown

It's more than likely that the Vin Diesel-led BLOODSHOT was one of the last films you saw before the COVID-19 pandemic caused movie theaters to shutter their doors nationwide. The film was released wide on the weekend of March 13, a week before the full movie theater shutdown & even during its wide opening, movie theaters began limited capacity seating in an attempt to limit the potential spread of the virus. Once the movie theaters closed, the decision was made to release BLOODSHOT and several other films early on VOD so some kind of profit could be made from the release. Now as movie theaters begin to reopen in several markets, BLOODSHOT is making a return to cinemas to make up some lost ground. 

BLOODSHOT will return to AMC locations starting this August 20, 2020, the first day of reopening when movie tickets will cost 15 cents. Check our AMC's tweet about the return of BLOODSHOT to their screens below: 

BLOODSHOT wasn't the only movie to get its planned theatrical release cut short. Pixar's ONWARD was another big release that got sidelined while many studios opted for early at-home digital releases for major titles, some even nixing theatrical plans altogether in favor of streaming and VOD. A rep for AMC Theatres noted SONIC THE HEDGEHOG and I STILL BELIEVE will also make theatrical comebacks for the first week of reopening.

Based on the Valiant Comics title of the same name, BLOODSHOT follows a Marine who was killed in action, only to be brought back to life with superpowers by an organization that wants to use him as a weapon. The film also stars Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell, Talulah Riley, Lamorne Morris, and Guy Pearce.
