Blumhouse and director Jeff Wadlow's (KICK-ASS 2, TRUTH OR DARE) horror twist on that old TV series  FANTASY ISLAND starring Lucy Hale (SCREAM 4, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS) and Michael Pena (CHIPS, CRASH) opened this past weekend to the tune of $12.3M. Not too shabby.

But then we looked at the movie's Rotten Tomatoes page. And, oh, boy. The flick currently holds a horrific 8% with a Critics Consensus that reads:

Fantasy Island tries to show audiences the dark side of wish fulfillment, but mainly serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of exhuming long-dead franchises.

Ouch.

The MPAA has slapped the movie with – you guessed it – a PG-13 rating for "violence, terror, drug content, suggestive material, and brief strong language." Described as a mix of WESTWORLD and THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, it tells the tale of

the enigmatic Mr. Roarke, who makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.
