Bob Weinstein claims Apollo 18 is real, says “we didn’t shoot anything!”

Hyping the veracity of the found-footage seen in APOLLO 18 is Dimension head Bob Weinstein, who recently told Entertainment Weekly that the moon coverage seen in the film is 100% authentic. You buyin’ what he’s slangin’?

In what became a viral smash, culling over 4 million views in two weeks or so, the trailer we saw for Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego’s film has been called into question. Is the flick simply another faux-doc, a la BLAIR WITCH and any number of imitators…or the real deal? Here’s what Weinstein said:

“People intrinsically know there are secrets being held from us. Look at WikiLeaks: There are secrets that are really true to the world. It’s not bogus.”

He continued with:

“We didn’t shoot anything. We found it. Found baby!”

And concluded with:

“This is just the beginning, but I’m not giving you anymore secrets!”

Alright, I feel impelled to ask…you lend any credence to what Bobby is spouting? I don’t. I think he’s simply playing to the gullibility of a broad audience, using viral marketing as a way to sell people on the authenticity of this project. Still, we’re writing about it, so he’s clearly onto something…

APOLLO 18 launches April 22nd. Peep the Official Site for more…
