Attention Vault Hunters! Principal photography for Eli Roth's Borderlands has officially wrapped!

You know, when I first heard that this movie was getting made, I was like, "Yeah, right." I said to myself, "This project will fall apart in a matter of months." Well, look at me now, eating crow with a fork and knife as if it were my last meal. Not only do I believe this movie will actually make it to theaters, but it also has major potential to be damn good.

Borderlands celebrated its production milestone on Tuesday by sharing the first official photo of Claptrap (Jack Black) from the upcoming film. Truth be told, he looks as if he had been ripped right out of the award-winning video game franchise. I know it's been said that the movie is hoping to emulate the look of the games but damn!

Directed by Eli Roth, Borderlands stars Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Tannis, Kevin Hart as Roland, Arianna Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Gina Gershon as Moxxi, Edgar Ramirez as Atlas, Janina Gavankar as Knoxx, Oliver Richters as Krom, Ryann Redmond as Ellie, Charles Babalola as Hammerlock, Steven Boyer as Scooter, Benjamin Byron Davis as Marcus, Cheyenne Jackson as Jakobs, and Bobby Lee as Larry.

Based on the best-selling PC and console gaming experience from developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K, a wholly owned label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., "Borderlands” has sold more than 66 million units sold worldwide, including over 24 million units of “Borderlands 2,” which is the highest-selling title in the history of 2K. The most recent installment, “Borderlands 3,” which launched in September 2019 and was recently released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, has sold more than 11 million units worldwide and was honored with the award for Best Multiplayer Game at Gamescom 2019 and Best Ongoing Game at Gamescom 2020.

What do you think of Claptrap's look for the new film? It's scarily accurate to the source material if you ask me. Do you think the entire film will have a cel-shaded look to it? I'm almost afraid to find out. Hopefully, we won't have to wait long to find out.

Borderlands will blow a bunch of sh*t up on screen in 2022.
