Box Office Update: Clayface could hit $25 million

Last Updated on October 26, 2026

The weekend box office battle is turning out to be a bit of a surprise. While it seemed earlier this week like the Nathan Fielder/Elizabeth Holmes documentary You Can See Everything had a good shot at finishing in first place ahead of Clayface, strong word-of-mouth is propelling the DC movie to a number one finish. According to Deadline, the film looks like it will open between $23-25 million, which is a bit better than the $20 million we predicted earlier this week. One of the reasons is that, for a horror-skewed, R-rated movie, the CinemaScore is an excellent A-minus, which suggests audiences are really digging this supervillain origin pic.

You Can See Everything is still performing extremely well, with it on track for $19 million, although a $20 million finish is possible. That’s a 5% increase from last weekend thanks to the screen count being upped from 800 to over 2,500 screens. In many major markets, screenings were selling out. Its domestic total is an excellent $44 million, but the thinking is this will play extremely well throughout the entire fourth quarter, leading up to it being a major Oscar contender. Imagine Fielder’s movie ending with a $100 million gross? It could happen.

Travis Knight’s Laika movie, Wildwood, is looking at an $11 million finish, which is on the higher end for recent releases from the studio, with it earning an amazing A CinemaScore rating (our critic called it a masterpiece). Last week’s champ, Street Fighter, is completely collapsing in week two, with it plunging 79% to $9.5 million, seemingly ending its chances of becoming a franchise. Performing even worse is Taika Waititi’s Klara and the Sun, which won’t even crack a million dollars. Disastrous. It’s being killed by Wicker, the buzzy period rom-com starring Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård, which is looking at $6 million-plus.

We’ll be back tomorrow with a full wrap-up.
