Boy Meets World – Gone But Not Forgotten

If you were a teen in the 1990s, chances are you watched Boy Meets World. Initially airing on ABCBoy Meets World starred Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, Will Friedle, William Daniels, William Russ, Betsy Randle, and Trina McGee. In the comedic drama, a group of kids learns about the pitfalls of growing up, accepting change, and paying attention to life’s many lessons.

Watched by scores of teens, Boy Meets World often tackled cultural issues, including interracial relationships, child abuse, sexual harassment, underage drug use, and abandonment. While the show’s impact on its target audience is undeniable, there was more going on behind the scenes than you would think. Everything from racial tension to drastic character changes caused problems on the set, leading to problems fans wouldn’t be aware of until after the show left the network.
