Brad Fuller talks new Friday the 13th film

So what’s the deal with this new FRIDAY THE 13TH film? Is it going to be found-footage, or will it be 3D? Maybe even both? After V/H/S and THE SIGNAL director, David Bruckner, was announced to take the helm of the reboot, it appeared even more likely that they were indeed going to take the found-footage route. Well, it turns out that no one really knows which direction they're going in just yet, not even Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller. Apparently they need that whole script thing to be finished first. Who would have thought!

Bloody Disgusting caught up with Fuller in a recent interview, who dug up some details on the status of the new FRIDAY THE 13TH. Fuller says, “I can’t make any determination about found footage or 3D until we have a story that we all agree on and that we all like. The story is the most important thing and the way you tell the story, to me, is secondary. We have some writers writing but, because we don’t have a script that everyone has signed off on, I can’t speak to how the story is meant to be told. All of those things have been considered. But no decisions have been made. We don’t know what story is being told.”

The film is supposed to be hitting theaters on November 13th, 2015, so it’s kind of surprising they’re still trying to crack the script. While I’m kind of hoping they stay away from the gimmicks of 3D and found-footage, it could be badass either way and it’ll be interesting to see what Bruckner comes up with when Jason comes slashing back into our lives once again.
