Brad Pitt & Marc Forster still in line for World War Z, could start as soon as June?

Dovetailing nicely with Ammon’s BOOZE TALKING article, and addressing a story we ran just last week, it seems Paramount might be quickly moving forward with WORLD WAR Z, with a possible start date as early as this coming June.

Deadline is now reporting that, after a missive that had the film’s bloated $125 million budget all but killing the project, there now seems to be additional investors to take on the project. Specifically, David Ellison’s Skydance and possibly two other entities could fork over some much needed dough to get the film rolling sooner than later. Of course, if the film still adheres to a PG-13 rating, I don’t care how massive the budget, how big the star, how capable the director…no one (certainly around here) wants to see that shite!

But, if a deal is done to get production started, it would behoove all involved to hurry up and make the film before, not dead in the middle, of a zombie film epidemic awaiting us in the next year or two. If it takes too long, Pitt will be 50 and zombies will be about as played out as toothless tweeny-bopper vampires. Ya dig?!?

WORLD WAR Z: AN ORAL HISTORY OF THE ZOMBIE WAR is a 2006 post-apocalyptic horror novel by Max Brooks. It is a follow-up to his 2003 book The Zombie Survival Guide. Rather than a grand overview or narrative, World War Z is a collection of individual accounts in the form of first-person anecdote. Brooks plays the role of an agent of the United Nations Postwar Commission who published the report a decade after the Zombie War. The United Nations left out much of his work from the official report, choosing to focus on facts and figures from the war rather than the individual stories that form the bulk of Brooks’ novel. The interviews chart a decade-long war against zombies from the view point of many different people of various nationalities. The personal accounts also describe the changing religious, geo-political, and environmental aftermath of the Zombie War.
