Brain-bashing, intestine-spilling peek at Valhalla Rising!

I just recently watched director Nicolas Winding Refn’s very entertaining BRONSON, so I know the dude enjoys his bare-knuckle beat-downs, but this is really out of control. In the best way possible, of course.

Here’s a sneak peek at Refn’s VALHALLA RISING, although really it’s just a montage of intense, bloody carnage – Viking style! The film stars CASINO ROYALE villain Mads Mikkelsen as “One-Eye”, a fearsome and successful fighter. Silent and lethal, One Eye has defeated everyone he’s encountered, but he’s treated more like an animal than a warrior. The only person he has any relationship with is the young boy who brings him food and water daily. Constantly caged and shackled, One Eye has drawn the attention of a new force now sweeping the countryside and displacing the society’s leaders: Christians.

Determined to claim territory for his faith, the leader of a band of Christians sets sail on an ill-fated odyssey to the Holy Land with One Eye and the young boy in tow.

IFC Films acquired the film during last year’s Toronto Film Festival, and plans to release it in 2010..
