A budding super-villain discovers his invulnerability in new Brightburn clip

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

For every alien child who crash-lands on Earth and grows up to become Superman, there's another child who uses those same abilities for slightly more sinister motives. BRIGHTBURN, the upcoming film directed by David Yarovesky from a screenplay by Mark and Brian Gunn which had been produced by James Gunn, will tell that very tale. Sony Pictures have released a new clip from BRIGHTBURN which finds young Brandon Beyer (Jackson A. Dunn) testing his abilities by sticking his arm into the spinning blades of an over-turned lawnmower. Surely there's some middle ground before you jump straight to the lawnmower test? Holding your hand over a candle? Letting a cat scratch you? Eating some under-cooked pork? Wait, scratch that one, Trichinosis is no joke.

The official synopsis for BRIGHTBURN:

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.

BRIGHTBURN will hit theaters on May 24th.
