We've already seen several television series resurrected in recent years, including The X-Files, Full House and Gilmore Girls, and plenty more are still on the way, including a revival of Fox's Prison Break. After Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) was sentenced to death for a crime he didn't commit, his brother Michael (Wentworth Miller) committed an armed robbery in order to get himself sent to the same prison as his brother. Once there, he began to put the pieces in place to rescue his brother and escape. Prison Break was a big success for Fox at the time but the series was still wrapped up after just four seasons. Now, nearly eight years after we last saw Michael and Lincoln, Prison Break is returning for a nine-episode limited series and a brand-new trailer for the upcoming revival teases some of the action, mystery and returning characters.
Although its subsequent seasons never quite matched the brilliance of the first, I was a fan of Prison Break throughout its entire run, and getting to share one more adventure with Michael (Wentworth Miller), Lincoln (Dominic Purcell), Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies), T-Bag (Robert Knepper) and C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) is quite appealing. Here's hoping that it actually lives up to the hype.
Prison Break will return to Fox on April 4, 2017.
