I remember thinking it weird when MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon were all making theatrical movies but now it seems we also have CMT (Country Music Television) movies as well. Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Robert Duvall have all signed on to star in CRAZY HEART for CMT Films. As you might expect, the film has something to do with country music and by something I mean “completely everything.” Bridges will play a down-on-his-luck country singer who helps turn his life and career around with the help of a female reporter (Gyllenhaal). O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? soundtrack guru T Bone Burnett will produce the original music for the film that Bridges will himself perform. Bridges, who just got his ass kicked by Iron Man this summer, can be seen next in the comedy HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS AND ALIENATE PEOPLE. Gyllenhaal can be seen doing her best Katie Holmes impression in THE DARK KNIGHT, in theaters tomorrow. Filming on CRAZY HEART is set to begin next month in New Mexico.
