Ash vs. Evil Dead Bruce Campbell

For almost forty years (with a twenty year break in the middle there), Bruce Campbell has been getting soaked with blood and various other bodily fluids while battling the demonic Deadites of the EVIL DEAD franchise. Currently in the midst of filming season 3 of the Starz TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead, Campbell shared a selfie from the set – and in this selfie, he's in exactly the sort of condition we expect him to be in while working on this project: covered with gore.

For Ash vs. Evil Dead, Campbell reprises the role of

Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons – personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

The show's cast also includes Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Lucy Lawless, and Michelle Hurd, with Arielle Carver-O'Neill joining the fun as a series regular in season 3.

Ash vs. Evil Dead is expected to return to the Starz airwaves this fall. There's a new showrunner this time around, with Mark Verheiden stepping in to replace Craig DiGregio, but Campbell's picture makes it clear that the show is still going to deliver in the bloodshed department.
