Thanks to a press release recently sent to us, we’ve got an update on THE TOOLBOX MURDERS 2, only a few weeks after our last one regarding the sequel’s main cast. The film has now got two more peeps in it: Bruce Dern and Mila Brener.

Bruce Dern should be familiar to you all (if he’s not, shame on you); the man’s been in over 130 movies, including SILENT RUNNING, THE BURBS and Joe Dante’s latest, THE HOLE. (That’s not even mentioning the fact that he’s Laura Dern’s poppa.) Meanwhile, Brener is only 6 years old, but has already done a lot of child modeling. She makes her motion picture debut with TOOLBOX.

The two join the previously announced Lance Henriksen, Brain Krause and Chauntal Lewis in the Dean Jones-directed film, which is currently shooting in California.

THE TOOLBOX MURDERS 2 picks up directly after the events of Tobe Hooper’s 2004 film. Survivors Nell and Stephen continue their night of Hell as they’re rushed to the nearby Hollywood Memorial hospital. Meanwhile, detectives Cole and Barnes and criminal profiler McGavin exhume Tbk’s modern day tomb and uncover his origins.
