Bruce Wayne finally puts on a mask in new Gotham trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

So, I've never watched any GOTHAM. I know it has its fans, but it always seemed like it should be called BATMAN BABIES to me – not to mention it seemed weird that these villains would have been around so long before Batman existed. Not only that, but this is just pretty much a campier BATMAN BEGINS now, right? I mean, we even have Ra's Al Ghul as a mentor and Lucius Fox as a quippy Q! At least GOTHAM isn't afraid to show Batman in costume, as it took almost the entire ten seasons before we saw Clark wearing a black trenchcoat and fighting crime. I wouldn't surprised if a Batman Baby actually ends up showing up by the end of the series!

Anyway, the new trailer shows off the introduction of Scarecrow, as well as the inevitable back-stabbings and betrayals that happen when villains team-up. Here's the official synopsis for the season:

Gotham Season 4 will witness the emergence of the criminal landscape for which Gotham City is best known, with Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) at the forefront of the fight against the most depraved and unhinged villains. While Gotham City fights for normalcy, a new hero will rise, as Bruce Wayne begins to assume responsibility for the city’s well-being.

So any fans of GOTHAM out there? And if so, what do you think of the new footage? Either way, sound off below!

Meanwhile, GOTHAM's fourth season (has it really been going on that long?) will swoop in on FOX September 21st.
