Now we move on from one X-Men collaborator to another…

Bryan Singer recently spoke to Spanish film site Cine Premiere about which mutants he’d like to see return to X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Fans have pointed out several of their own picks on who they’d like to see. Some of them have already made appearances in X-MEN films, and the others are beloved characters that have not made the leap off the page.

Right now, he’s got an idea in the back of his head on who might be back but with it being so early in the process all he could offer was this (with the help of Google Translate):

I’m considering Gambit and potentially a young Nightcrawler for Apocalypse. [I was] going to have Nightcrawler [in Days of Future Past] and even wrote a scene, but I felt that we were forcing too [many mutants] known history.

As for the rest of the team, the site said this (again Google Translating): “the director was very clear to ensure that the film will only show the last mutants.”

Which characters would you like to see in the next film?

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
