Bryan Singer teases another epic Quicksilver sequence in X-Men: Apocalypse

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

One of the highlights in Bryan Singer's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST was Evan Peters as Quicksilver. With Marvel Studios' AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and Singer's film both using the same character, many didn't expect the X-MEN film to have the better finished product. But, his prison break sequence in the film was one of the highlights of last year. Now, Singer may be doing it again.

In the Instagram post below, Singer shows a seemingly innocuous behind the scenes shot of several extras held by wires in front of green screens. The hashtag shows this is in fact a scene involving Quicksilver which probably means the wired actors will be suspended to give the effect of being frozen in time. How the scene fits into the film as a whole is unknown, but even if Singer replicates the scene I will be happy to see the effect used again.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is shaping up to be a pretty spectacular send-off for some established actors in the X-MEN film franchise along with the introduction of several more. Oscar Isaac is poised to make one hell of an Apocalypse while rumors are still running that Hugh Jackman and Channing Tatum will put in appearances as Wolverine and Gambit, respectively.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is slated to hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
