Dangerously flirting with AITH irrelevance is Bryan Singer’s JACK THE GIANT KILLER, and frankly, if it didn’t have such a kickass pedigree, we’d probably ignore it altogether. As it stands, we’re keeping you in the loop with the larger news tidbits we deem worthy…

So how about a release date?

Word is Warner Bros. just slated JACK THE GIANT KILLER for a June 15, 2012 release date. I guess after THE USUAL SUSPECTS and APT PUPIL, Singer’s intent on ushering in summer tent-pole flicks. No, VALKYRIE doesn’t count!

As you’ll recall, Jack the Giant Killer is a scary revisionist take on the Jack and the Beanstalk mythology and follows a farmer who leads an expedition into the giants’ kingdom to rescue a kidnapped princess.

Ian McShane is the latest to join the cast, which also includes Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy, Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, John Kassir, Eleanor Tomlinson (below) and Lee Boardman.

So there ya have it…JACK THE GIANT KILLER does his thing June 15, 2012.
