Two years ago, it would have been inconceivable to imagine all of the 20th Century Fox classics falling under the banner of the House of Mouse. But, then we fell prey to the classic blunder. No, not to never get into a land war in Asia but instead to always know that you should never bet against Disney when profits are on the line. To that effect, one of Fox's most Disney-esque films is making it's debut on Disney+, and stars Robin Wright and Cary Elwes have revealed what it is courtesy of a recent social media post.

That's right, Mouseketeers, it's a Miracle Max miracle! Rob Reiner's fairy tale classic THE PRINCESS BRIDE is coming to Disney+ on May 1st! Now, I know that getting to the food store is tough these days, but the next time you make the trek, be sure to stock up on what you need to make a nice mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich. You know, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe. It's the perfect meal to pair with this timeless film, which has everything from pirates to giants, sword fights and six-fingered men with a death wish to keep you entertained during quarantine!

Considered a flawless fairy tale film among many, THE PRINCESS BRIDE is director Rob Reiner's 1987 masterpiece. The movie is based on the novel of the same name written by the late William Goldman, who also penned the screenplay for Reiner's adaptation. The inspired tale that was first published in 1973 tells the story of a farmboy-turned pirate (Cary Elwes), who encounters numerous obstacles, enemies and allies in his quest to be reunited with his true love, Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright). Endlessly quotable, inspiring on all fronts, and a beacon of fantasy filmmaking, THE PRINCESS BRIDE also starred Mandy Patinkin as Inigo Montoya; Wallace Shawn as Vizzini; Andre the Giant as Fezzik; Chris Sarandon as Prince Humperdink; Billy Crystal as Miracle Max; Carol Kane as Valerie; Peter Falk as The Grandfather; and Fred Savage as The Grandson.

Disney will bring THE PRINCESS BRIDE to their Disney+ streaming platform on May 1st.
