Some casting news has hit the web for multiple movies so here's a rundown of the new cast members joining the films THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., DRACULA and OUR ROBOT OVERLORDS.
THR has learned that Swedish actress Alicia Vikander (ANNA KARENINA) has signed on as the female lead in Guy Ritchie's adaptaion of the 1960's spy series THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Vikander will be playing a British agent that loves cars, however it will not be a character that appeared in the television series. Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer were previously cast in the film as Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, respectively.
THR also has news that Callan McAuliffe (THE GREAT GATSBY, I AM NUMBER FOUR) will appear in the science-fiction film OUR ROBOT OVERLORDS for director Jon Wright. Wright has previously directed the Irish monster movie GRABBERS as well as the horror comedy TORMENTED. OUR ROBOT OVERLORDS also stars Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson and is about (SURPRISE!) a war between robots and humans.
Plot:
Overlords centers on a teen (McAuliffe) who gathers a group of teens together to search for his long lost father in the midst of a war between humans and robots. The teen discovers a way to fight back and he realizes that there’s more to this war than his own family.
Last but not least, Variety has an exclusive that Dominic Cooper has agreed to join DRACULA with Luke Evans. The film from director Gary Shore also stars Sarah Gadon. DRACULA will be a combination of mythology and history about Prince Vlad, whose reputation for being ruthless and excessively cruel helped inspire Bram Stoker's Dracula character. DRACULA is scheduled to be released on August 8, 2014.
