Barry Sonnenfeld’s MEN IN BLACK III (3D) doesn’t land in theaters until May 25th, 2012…so I guess a little script-work at this stage of the game isn’t all that worrisome. Or is it?
According to the L.A. Times, Jeff Nathanson (CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, RUSH HOUR 2) has been brought aboard the production of MIB III to retool Etan Cohen’s screenplay. Not only that, the film will adhere to an unconventional shooting schedule…filming through Christmas before a short hiatus…then resuming in February.
The plot will center on Jay (Will Smith) as he’s sent back to 1969 in order to aid a 26 year old Kay (Brolin) in a battle to save the Earth against Yaz (Clement), who travels back in time to kill Kay and destroy the world.
Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Sharlto Copley, Alec Baldwin, Nicole Scherzinger (below), Emma Thompson, Gemma Arterton, Jemaine Clement and Rip Torn are all set to star.
