Chadwick Boseman gives us a fierce stare-down in first poster for 21 Bridges

21 Bridges, Chadwick Boseman

After spending more than a year as T'Challa in BLACK PANTHER, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, and (I assume) AVENGERS: ENDGAME, Chadwick Boseman is ready for some action of the non-superhero variety. 21 BRIDGES finds Boseman starring as a disgraced NYPD detective who is given a shot at redemption. "Thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, he begins to uncover a massive conspiracy that links his fellow cops to a criminal empire and must decide who he is hunting and who is actually hunting him. During the manhunt, Manhattan is completely locked down for the first time in its history — no exit or entry to the island including all 21 bridges." Sounds fun.

We'll see the first trailer for the Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones) directed film tomorrow, but in the meantime, you can check out the poster.

In addition to Chadwick Boseman, 21 BRIDGES also stars J.K. Simmons (Counterpart), Sienna Miller (LIVE BY NIGHT), Taylor Kitsch (Waco), Morocco Omari (Empire), Keith David (NIGHT SCHOOL) and Stephan James (IF BEALE STREET COULD TALKE). Joe and Anthony Russo produced 21 BRIDGES through their AGBO banner, and explained why the film was up their alley in a statement to IGN.

We grew up on a steady diet of action thrillers. Great stories told by amazing directors, centered around generational acting talent like Chadwick. Profound thematics that were reflective of their times. 21 Bridges has all of it. It’s the kind of movie we love to see, and the kind of movie we love to bring to audiences.

21 BRIDGES will hit theaters on July 12, 2019, and you can see an exclusive photo from the film below courtesy of IGN.
