The Uprising is a story based on the legend of Robin Hood. Paul Greengrass brings us a thrilling tale that features Andrew Garfield. Known as a “ploughman,” he has lost his family and realizes he has another battle. Along the way, he meets John Ball (Jamie Bell), and the two join a massive rebellion against a tyrannical king. The feature also stars Katherine Waterston, Tom Hollander, Thomasin McKenzie, and Woody Norman as King Richard II.

Greengrass is no stranger to action. His past work with Matt Damon includes The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Jason Bourne. As well as the similarly action heavy Green Zone, also with Damon. And similar to the earlier action features, The Uprising is heavy on action. Both Garfield and Jamie Bell give audiences a couple of excellent performances. Andrew has proven to be quite an exciting actor, one who takes exciting chances, including this.

The moment I walked into the room to speak with Garfield and Greengrass, I was instantly feeling great energy. It was wonderful meeting the director for the very first time. As for the conversation, Garfield discussed taking on a man willing to stand up for others. While Paul opened up about his inspiration to tell the ‘Robin Hood‘ story in such a way. And finally, when the interview nearly came to a close, Paul brought up the story about the Ox. I loved it.

Check out The Uprising now in theatres.
