Two honest-to-goodness indie horror flicks are getting a Video OnDemand and DVD releases this year courtesy of the newly founded Channel Midnight Releasing. Channel Midnight was founded by filmmaker James Felix McKenney (director of the upcoming creature feature HYPOTHEMIA) and producers Lisa Wisely and Chase Tyler of The Work Room Productions as a means to distribute select titles from McKenney’s filmography. Along the way they have come across impressive works by other talent filmmakers that screamed to be seen by their target audience.

CANNABALISTIC is a black comedy starring Don Wood (COLONIAL HOUSE, HYPOTHERMIA) as a recovering cannibal driven over the edge by his annoying neighbors. It will be released this Fall.

As for BURNING INSIDE, which has a Spring release planned, it goes like this: John Doe (Michael Wrann) awakens from a coma to find that he has no memory of his life, who he was or how he became comatose. He embarks on a life of normalcy, taking a wife, starting a family, mowing the lawn. This ‘Norman Rockwell’ world is soon torn from him as he becomes driven to get revenge. Revenge for a life he does not remember. Revenge for pain lost to amnesia. Revenge for what he believes to be true. John Doe seeks out those that hurt him and makes them pay. Or does he? Such is the tragic moebius strip of revenge when the past and future collide.
