For those not caught up on their N.W.A. history, STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON tells the story of how five young men revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural war. We got a red-band trailer a couple of months ago showing off some of the history of N.W.A., but here's the trailer that will be making the theater rounds, plus a slew of character posters further down.

I can't comment on any factual (in)accuracies, but director F. Gary Gray (LAW ABIDING CITIZEN, THE ITALIAN JOB) looks to have crafted a compelling cinematic look at some of the most famed artists from the 80s. Plus, O'Shea Jackson Jr. is a dead ringer for his father, Ice Cube. Now if we can just get a sequel to this that follows his career up to ARE WE THERE YET?, then the story will be complete.

STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON hits theaters on August 14, 2015.
