Charlie xcx isn’t ruling out the honor of creating a new 007 theme song: “Never Say Never”

Brat Summer might be in the rearview, but Charli xcx is just getting started making bangers worth shaking your moneymaker to. In the past, musical artists like Madonna, Adele, Sam Smith, Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, and more have contributed theme songs to the James Bond franchise; could Charli xcx be next in line?

Charli xcx is already entrenched in the motion picture soundtrack game after creating the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights. Charli xcx is a three-time Grammy winner, and adding a 007 theme song to her extensive list of achievements would be a nice feather in her cap.

In recent Hollywood news, Charli xcx starred in The Moment, a fictionalized deconstruction of Charli xcx’s Brat Summer. Our own Chris Bumbray reviewed the satirical documentary while attending this year’s Sundance Film Festival. You can check out his review here.

Charli xcx on possibly composing the next 007 theme song

During an interview on The Julia Cunningham Show, Charli xcx commented on the idea of her composing the next 007 theme song for Denis Villeneuve’s anticipated James Bond film, saying, “I got to say, I don’t think that I am built for that,” said Charli on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show. “I think I probably sing with too much AutoTune to do a James Bond. Never say never. I’m open to it if they want to call me, which they won’t but, yeah. I think it might not be a fit, but that’s, well, yeah. It’s not going to happen now, is it? So amazing. I don’t know.”

“Barbara, call me,” Charli xcx joked about hooking up with producer Barbara Broccoli for the gig.

Will Jacob Elordi become the next Bond?

Recently, rumors that Wuthering Heights star Jacob Elordi will be the next James Bond are circulating. Chatter about Elordi taking on the iconic role has circulated for months. Still, fresh whispers about him meeting with Villeneuve and Amazon MGM Studios have people thinking he could become the youngest actor to play 007 in the franchise’s history. In his report for Showbiz 411, Roger Friedman says Amazon desperately wants Elordi to be the next Bond, though no formal offer has transpired. Even if Amazon has Elordi in its sights, he’d still need to screen test for the role, but I’ve no doubt he’d nail the audition. Additionally, as much as Amazon may want Elordi for the role, Villeneuve still gets to weigh in on whose martini gets shaken, not stirred.
