New poster for Charlize Theron film Atomic Blonde from John Wick director

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I admittedly had my misgivings about the first JOHN WICK, but there's no denying that its unique take on action is going to redefine the action genre for at least a few years. And it was helmed by two stuntmen-turned-directors: Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. Now, we saw how well Stahelski did solo with JOHN WICK 2 (hint: he's doing very well), but we'll have to wait to see how Leitch himself will fare. He's slated to direct DEADPOOL 2, but we won't even have to wait that long to find out, as he has a new action film starring Charlize Theron called ATOMIC BLONDE (which sounds more like a '50s monster movie, but I digress) coming out this summer.

Anyway, here's the cool-as-hell poster for it:

Stylish. If it weren't for the gun, I'd think this was an ad for some expensive French perfume.

And here's the official synopsis:

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

ATOMIC BLONDE, also starring James McAvoy, Sofia Boutella, and John Goodman, will debut at SXSW March 12th then go nuclear in theaters July 28th.
