I don’t know that I needed or necessarily wanted another FINAL DESTINATION movie after the fourth and supposedly final film, but I also know that I’m a giant sucker for a new FINAL DESTINATION movie. It’s one of the very few horror franchises that still seems to be having fun this far in and not getting bogged down with mythology or taking itself too serious.
Since they’ve gone ahead and made FINAL DESTINATION 5, I’ll be one of the people in theaters checking it out especially since I cringed at least three times during this new trailer (at least once was because I saw David Koechner). I worry that Tony Todd might be spending a little too much time setting up the premise for our dopey teens but there seems to be enough carnage to back all that up. Check out the first trailer for the film, which hits theaters in 3D this August, below.
