The character study of a washed-up actor who once played an iconic superhero is at the forefront of Alejandro Inarritu's BIRDMAN, but the story wouldn't sell if there wasn't a believable superhero costume on display. There's no doubts that Michael Keaton's performance is brilliant, but equally brilliant are the guys over at Spectral Motion who built the Birdman costume. This isn't a slight against the story of BIRDMAN at all, but from what everyone's saying, Michael Keaton's performance just dominates the entire experience. You can check out Eric Walkuski's take here, but you'll find it pretty much falls in line with what everyone else is saying about the film. If you've already scratched that INTERSTELLAR itch, BIRDMAN is absolutely worth seeking out at a theater near you.
