While we have seen a couple of stills from Seth MacFarlane‘s follow-up to TED, these new character posters are the most information we have so far on A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST. Aside from the funny and risque taglines for each character, we get a good look at their costumes, including Sarah Silverman looking pretty damn hot.

It has been a long time since we got a good Western comedy that could compete with the likes of Mel Brooks‘ BLAZING SADDLES, and if TED is an indicator, this movie may be the best contender. MacFarlane is going to throw everything he can and push the boundaries of an R rating, but I would also expect the film to have some heart to it as well. Maybe even a Mark Wahlberg cameo?

Albert (Seth MacFarlane) is a sheep farmer who lacks courage, losing his beloved girlfriend (Amanda Seyfried) as a result of his withdrawal from a duel. He soon meets another lady (Charlize Theron), and discovers his bravery and confidence. The herder soon realizes his true potential when the lady’s spouse (Liam Neeson), an infamous criminal, demands payback.

Based on the sexual innuendo in these posters, I would expect the juvenile comedy we have come to expect from the FAMILY GUY creator to be alive and well in A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST, but hopefully there is more to it than that. A cast this big already speaks volumes to what MacFarlane can accomplish and I hope he uses them in the right way. Charlize Theron and Liam Neeson are the Oscar nominees here and have proven they can play well with comedy. Hopefully they give us something really memorable here.

A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST starring Seth MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Giovanni Ribisi, Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Silverman, Wes Studi, and Liam Neeson hits theaters on May 30, 2014.
