There sure as shit is something amiss in (and with) Calvin Reeder’s THE OREGONIAN, a surreal horror flick that’ll debut at the Sundance Film Festival next month. TwitchFilm got their hands on the teaser trailer, which you can watch below. Just beware of epileptic shock.

Reeder apparently has something of a cult following thanks to his short films, although this is the first I’m hearing of him. There’s certainly an experimental vibe if the trailer is an indication, and word has it that Reeder deals in the hallucinatory and off-kilter.

Here’s the synopsis listed on Sundance’s official website: There is a place. A place where the skies are wide and the forests are thick—and strange. You can lose yourself forever in these woods. You’ll meet truckers with problems and old women with strange powers. You may even make a furry friend. Just be sure to stay quiet. Spend some time with a woman from Oregon who is lost on the road and running away from her past. Now she has a chance to experience everything the grotesque Northwest has to offer, whether she likes it or not.

THE OREGONIAN, starring Lindsay Pulsipher, Robert Longstreet, Matt Olsen, Lynne Compton, and Barlow Jacobs, will premiere on Monday, January 24th at Midnight; check out more details HERE. If you’re attending Sundance, this might be one to hit up.
