With production of CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 on the horizon, things are heating up for the first avenger as far as what direction they may take the sequel. While THE WINTER SOLIDER leaves audiences with a pretty good idea on what we can expect, Marvel is sure to have a few aces up its sleeve to keep fans happy. Chris Evans certainly seems to think so, as he recently spoke with MTV regarding his future as Steve Rogers.
If Chris Evans is excited about how AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will lead into CAPTAIN AMERICA 3:
That’s the beauty of the Marvel universe. It’s this giant web of plot where everything is kinda connected to everything else. That’s the beautiful thing, and especially for the fanboys who understand these plotlines. Every time a new film is announced there’s this surge of excitement as to where it’s gonna go and with Cap 3, we’re going to continue this excitement.
Whether or not Evans knows what the Russo’s will do with Cap 3:
I do.
In regards to Cap leading a new team of heroes in Cap 3:
Yeah, it’d be great. What can I say?!? Because you wanna give something! Listen, Marvel doesn’t disappoint. Whatever you’re hoping for, you’re probably going to get.
In regards to handing off the shield:
Who’s handing off the shield? Don’t take my job from me prematurely, dude! I’m sure it’ll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I’m really happy playing the character and I’m honored to be a part of the Marvel universe for now.
At this point, I think the Russo brothers have earned the trust of fans and then some. Even with AGE OF ULTRON around the corner, audiences are already clamoring for more details about CAP 3 and the direction it’s going to take. That says a lot about the buzz for this film, especially considering most were pretty so-so about Captain America’s first outing. I would personally love to see Red Skull utilized to greater effect, but I’m sure we’ll enjoy wherever the Russo’s take us.
