MASCOTS is the new comedy from Christopher Guest, director of WAITING FOR GUFFMAN and BEST IN SHOW. Starring many of his regular troupe of actors, this latest film takes place in the ultra-competitive world of sports mascots where they compete for the most prestigious award in their field, the Gold Fluffy. So would that make those competing for it . . . fluffers?
THIS IS SPINAL TAP speaks for itself, but Christopher Guest's directed efforts are up there too, with BEST IN SHOW being one of those films I can't help but watch every time it's on TV. MASCOTS looks like it's very much in that same vein, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. If this relationship with Netflix proves fruitful, one wonders if Guest would be interested in doing a TV series like this…
