Cirque Du clip!

I really don’t know what to make of Paul Weitz’s genre hodgepodge CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE’S ASSISTANT.

On one hand, it’s bound to star the consistent hilarity of John C. Reilly, in wacky makeup and Meatloaf haircut no less. On the other, it’s helmed by a guy more used to choreographing pie-fuc*ing (AMERICAN PIE) and casting shim-seeking two-timers (ABOUT A BOY). At least we know the more seasoned horror-head Brian Helgeland (976-EVIL, HIGHWAY TO HELL) has belted out the script for the project.

Let’s catch up, shall we. THE VAMPIRE’S ASSISTANT is about:

A young boy named Darren Shan who meets a mysterious man at a freak show who turns out to be a Vampire. After a series of events Darren must leave his normal life and go on the road with the Cirque Du Freak and become a Vampire.

So a traveling road-show of carnie hijinks, oddball dealings and some good old fashion bloodletting – doesn’t sound too bad, does it?

Set to globetrot On October 23rd, CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE’S ASSISTANT stars Josh Hutcherson, Chris Massoglia, Jessica Carlson, Ray Stevenson, Patrick Fugit, Salma Hyek, Colleen Camp and Ken Watanabe.

Snare a look at the always sexy Salma Hayek in the clip below!
