Last week we heard that Warner Bros. was weighing whether or not to convert CLASH OF THE TITANS into 3D, even as the release date of MARCH 26th comes closer and closer. Looks as though the verdict is in: 3D it is.
In related news, CLASH is being pushed back one week, and will now open on APRIL 2nd. Not sure if one week will make all the difference in the world as far as the conversion process is concerned, but I guess it’s a move Warners thought it had to make. It does temporarily get it out of the way of Dreamworks’ Animated flick HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, which is also in 3D and set to open on MARCH 26th. Perhaps Warners is willing for that kiddie flick to have a big opening weekend (which it will) on its own, then snatch away the adults the following week.
All that matters is, we’ll be seeing The Kraken kick ass in 3D. According to HeatVisionBlog, the conversion only cost about $5 million, so expect this to happen to, oh, just about every movie ever from now on!
