An exclusive clip for crime thriller The Kill Room has arrived, reuniting Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman on the cast list for the first time in two decades.

In The Kill Room clip, Uma Thurman’s art dealer Patrice approaches Samuel L. Jackson’s Gordon in a bakery seeking a piece of art she can sell. Gordon is a bit cagey and the two go back and forth on “financial legitimacy”, which seems like an awfully tame term for what they’re about to engage in. This is set up earlier in the movie, when we see Gordon pitching Patrice to sell a piece of art, knowing she has a financial problem that she needs help with. What does Gordon get in return? A cut…and certainly a little something else.

As per Shout! Studios’ release, The Kill Room is a dark comedy / crime-thriller about a hitman (Joe Manganiello), his boss (Jackson), an art dealer (Thurman), and their money laundering scheme that accidentally turns the hitman into an overnight, avant garde sensation, forcing the dealer to play the art world against the underworld.”

Rounding out The Kill Room’s cast is Maya Hawke (Stranger Things), Dree Hemingway (It Happened in L.A.), Debi Mazda (The Only Living Boy in New York), and WWE superstar Liv Morgan, making her big screen debut. That’s a pretty strong supporting cast and it should be interesting to see how Morgan handles an acting role of this type.

Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman of course first appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction but didn’t actually share any scenes together (strange to think). Later, Tarantino cast both in Kill Bill, with Jackson playing Rufus, the organist set to play Beatrix’s wedding.

The Kill Room is directed by Nicol Paone (2020’s Friendsgiving), who is branching out here considering she has worked with Funny or Die and The Groundlings’ Sunday Company, which also counts Conan O’Brien, Tom Segura and Rita Wilson as alum.

The Kill Room was released on Thursday, September 28th.
