Cold Prey director to helm the new expedition into Tomb Raider

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

In news I bet you'd hoped you'd never hear, the TOMB RAIDER remake has unearthed a new director. Luckily, he's more of a gem than expected. Roar Uthaug, who will be directing the script from Geneva Robertson-Dworet, was the man behind the brilliant Norwegian slasher throback COLD PREY.

Since that time, he has directed the action-thriller ESCAPE and the tsunami disasterpiece THE WAVE, so this will be his first high profile picture in a while. Perhaps ever. Although COLD PREY wasn't huge outside the horror community, the director has some real talent, so his getting the job is the only ray of light in the dank cavern that is this woefully unneeded reboot.

The only plot we've managed to excavate so far is that:

the film will detail Croft's first adventure.

I would certainly consider watching the film if Lara Croft was played by Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, the final girl from COLD PREY most recently seen in the HERCULES reboot with Dwayne Johnson. She's a badass with a rockin' body who desrves way more screentime in the States.

Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Uthaug's original kick-ass heroine
