Comic Con trailer: Things have changed since the last games in the first full trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Last Updated on February 10, 2026

The first full-length trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE was shown at Comic Con, and as promised it is now online for all the Katniss fans out there who didn’t make it to San Diego. The sequel looks to be bigger in scope than the first and the stakes certainly seem much higher. I’ve heard from many that the second and third books aren’t nearly as good as the first, but maybe while the story was being worked on for the big screen adaption director Francis Lawrence and company fixed some things.

In the trailer you see a little bit more of the Victory Tour and some of the rebellions that have taken place within the districts. If I was a big fan of the series though, I’d be a little annoyed because a lot of what is shown was already revealed in the teaser trailer. Although I’m sure with how well the first one did in theaters Lionsgate could probably release the movie without a single trailer and it would still do over $300 million.

“Remember who the real enemy is.”

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Amanda Plummer, Jeffrey Wright, and Alan Ritchson, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE hits theaters on November 22nd, 2013.
