Last month our man JP hit you with two articles about an upcoming FX series called “American Horror Story,” from “Glee” producers Ryan Murray and Brad Falchuk. Well, looks the pilot episode of the show has found its first lead!

According to Deadline, Connie Britton (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) has won the role of Vivien Harmon, who, according to character outlines we gave you, is Ben Harmon’s gorgeous wife; a force to be reckoned with in spite of her vulnerable demeanor.

Now, even though the pilot is set to lens next month, producers are keeping the plot under tight lock and key. I guess that’s a form of suspense, so I we can’t fault them too much, can we?

For Britton, she does a nice job of weaving in and out of TV and film, having starred in “Friday Night Lights” and producing an untitled David O. Russell TV series, also for FX. As far as film projects go, she has Josh Stolberg’s romance CONCEPTION, Tim McCanlies’ family film WHEN ANGELS SING and Maggie Carey’s comedy THE HAND JOB in the works. Talk about diversity!
