Connor Storrie, one of the stars of the breakout hockey drama series Heated Rivalry, is in talks to star alongside Ryan Gosling in Ghost Rider. There’s no word on who Storrie would play in the Marvel movie, but THR‘s report does mention that he would be playing a villain. Interesting.
Marvel’s Ghost Rider
The Ghost Rider movie was one of the big announcements out of San Diego Comic-Con this summer, when it was revealed that Ryan Gosling would be starring in the film. Shawn Levy, who recently worked with Gosling on Star Wars: Starfighter, will direct Ghost Rider from a script by Jonathan Tropper.
The film is set to kick off production in New York next year, with Linus Sandgren (Dune: Part Three) set as the director of photography. According to THR’s sources, the project will be shot on film.
As for which villain Storrie could be playing in the film, your guess is as good as mine at this point. Sacha Baron Cohen is already playing Mephisto in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Blackheart maybe?
Ghost Rider is already slated for a July 28, 2028 release.
Gosling Pitched Ghost Rider Himself
It’s no secret that Gosling has wanted to play Ghost Rider in the MCU for many years, and it sounds like he was the one who actually pushed it over the finish line.
“It was Gosling who had the vision,” Feige told Empire at Comic-Con. “It was Gosling who had the pitch that won over Shawn, that had them come and pitch us this idea, which led to us on stage today.”
Heated Rivalry Season 2
Heated Rivalry stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie as two professional hockey players who maintain a secret long-term romantic relationship while playing for rival teams.
The second season of the hockey romance series started shooting this summer, with Crave looking at a Spring 2027 premiere. “There will be more Heated Rivalry on your TVs, like, truly, as soon as humanly possible,” said series creator Jacob Tierney.
What do you think of Connor Storrie potentially joining the cast of Ghost Rider as the villain? Who do you think he should play?
