Cool Horror Videos: Halloween, David Fincher / Trent Reznor style

What if HALLOWEEN had been directed by David Fincher, with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross providing the score? If you've ever pondered that question, directing duo Jack & Justin (who helmed the entire first season of the IFC series Stan Against Evil) have attempted to bring you an answer.

The pair took a scene from the original John Carpenter HALLOWEEN and re-edited, stabilized, and color corrected it to emulate the look and feel of a David Fincher film. They then used Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's recently released version of Carpenter's iconic HALLOWEEN theme to score the scene… and it works quite well. The alterations change the feel of this familiar scene, and I'm left wanting to watch an entire feature that looks this way and starts out this way.

At a certain moment, the clip shifts to a title sequence that was assembled through the use of stock footage, effects elements, photographs, and animated text.

This is a bit of experimental fun that's well worth dedicating 3 minutes to.
