For the film geeks out there that love the technical part of filmmaking and its history: this one's for you. Filmmaker IQ has created this fascinating video on how aspect ratios have changed over time because of movies. It's a long video (a little over eighteen minutes) but it's very informative and interesting. It also explains how certain classic films (with clips) impacted theaters.

So if you've always wondered about aspect ratios in film this is the video to watch. It's sort of like going to film school without being stuck with a massive tuition bill.
