FAST FIVE is currently putting up big numbers overseas, and sitting at a rather shocking 79% on Rotten Tomatoes with over thirty reviews counted. It appears to series has found some magic to win critics over, and its fanbase is still intact as it looks like a shoe-in to win opening weekend in the US.
But even if the series is still evolving somehow, the movie was written by a five-year-old as this new Onion interview reveals.
I probably would have preferred them to lampoon Michael Bay’s DARK OF THE MOON in the same fashion, but their analysis of at least the trailer works. These movies are pure adrenaline macho fantasy, and I’m sure I would have loved them as a kid who owned 500 Hot Wheels.
Sarcasm aside, are you pumped for FAST FIVE? With this many good early reviews I’m wondering what it has that the other were missing.
