Cool Videos: These rare bloopers from the original Star Wars will make your day

JoBloJoBlo

Ah, STAR WARS. It seems like each week since the announcement of the Lucasfilm sale to Disney that we have not only been getting EPISODE VII news but special treats from the original trilogy. Last week it was the long lost Yoda footage from RETURN OF THE JEDI and today we have a look at rarely seen bloopers from the filming of STAR WARS (aka A NEW HOPE).

This reel was screened for the lucky guests at this year’s San Diego Comic Con by Lucasfilm editor J.W. Rinzler. Rinzler stumbled across it and knew it would be something fans would enjoy. It is cool to see Alec Guinness, Harrison Ford, and especially Peter Cushing letting loose behind the scenes. Cushing and Guinness seemed so serious on screen that it still is surprising to see their softer side in footage like this. But, it also is nice to see that even over thirty years ago that those in the industry still had as much fun making movies as they do today.
