Six directors, one room, one giant roundtable discussion (held yearly – look for past ones on YouTube) that runs the gamut from working with crazy actors to retirement to fan interaction to screenwriting to the dangers of digital projection.  Ben Affleck (ARGO), Tom Hooper (LES MISERABLES), Ang Lee (LIFE OF PI), David O. Russell (SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK), Quentin Tarantino (DJANGO UNCHAINED), and Gus Van Sant (PROMISED LAND).  There’s a good chance that one of your favorite films this fall was directed by someone in that group, and if you haven’t seen the films they made yet then I strongly suggest you rectify that.

The interview runs a little over an hour, but it’s as well worth your time (if not moreso) than any movie you might watch instead.  These are six men (arguably) at the top of their game, all at different points in their respective careers, but full of stories and passion and perspectives that will only make their prospective future films that much more engaging, inspiring, disturbing, exciting, or even just plain cool (depending on which you value most).

So give it a watch, and then strike back below that with your thoughts on what they had to say!
